Prompted

Prompted is an experimental AI tool that responds only with oblique questions, no answers. The project is a response to how AI gets designed and marketed. Speed is the unquestioned assumption in most AI interaction design, where faster is always framed as better. But that speed forecloses a specific kind of thinking: the slow, pre-answer, exploratory kind. In Prompted, friction is not a bug – it is the point. By placing generative AI in dialogue with different sensemaking systems, the project proposes an alternative role for the technology: not an answering engine optimized for efficiency, but an orienting system that surfaces assumptions, widens questions, and sustains the interpretive work of thinking.
